Our take on 401 Hougang Delights is that it's a reliable, long-standing hawker stall, particularly for those in the Hougang area seeking comfort food.
The Mee Siam, specifically the Nonya style, is frequently highlighted as a signature item, with some reviewers noting its consistent taste over the years.
We appreciate the detail that the owner pre-squeezes the lime, a small touch that enhances the experience.
However, a recurring point of feedback is the small portion size for the $4 Mee Siam, which might leave some diners wanting more.
While the Mee Siam generally receives positive remarks, other items like the fried popiah have been criticised for being overly oily, and the plain bee hoon is not recommended.
The stall also offers other options like ngoh hiang and wanton noodles, which are described as 'ok' but not exceptional.
Its 24-hour operation and easy parking make it a convenient spot, especially for late-night supper.
We think it's a solid choice for a familiar, no-frills meal, particularly if you're craving Nonya Mee Siam and are in the neighbourhood.

Good quality mee Siam but not the plain bee hoon. The fried popiah got too much oil soaked in. Others like fried tofu, ngoh hiang etc were well prepared. Enjoyed these food n will order again.
