Our take on 57 Handmade Noodle is that it's a solid contender for one of the better Mee Hoon Kway stalls in the Bedok area, particularly for its dry version.
Reviewers consistently praise the hand-stretched noodles for their smooth texture and the overall consistent taste, even after years of operation.
The Dry Mee Hoon Kway, priced at $4.50, is highlighted for its simple yet flavourful ingredients, including minced meat, vegetables, and ikan bilis, all brought together by a distinctive vinegar recipe.
Portions are generally considered generous and good value for money.
However, we note a significant concern regarding hygiene, with one reviewer reporting a dirty spoon and a strand of hair in their bowl.
While this appears to be an isolated complaint among otherwise positive feedback, it's a critical factor to consider.
Despite this, the consistent quality and reasonable pricing of the signature dish make it a local favourite.
Verdict: A worthwhile stop if you're in Bedok and craving Dry Mee Hoon Kway, but we'd recommend a quick check of your utensils upon arrival.
