Editor’s Note

Last updated 29 May 2026

Our take: Cafe 276 presents a mixed bag, with some patrons praising specific roast meats while others find inconsistency.

The char siew, particularly the fatty cuts, receives positive mentions, as does the accompanying soup.

However, the roast pork's crispiness appears to vary, leading to a hit-or-miss experience.

The wanton noodles are noted for their generous portion size and potent chili, though the noodle texture itself is considered average.

Criticisms are directed at the kaya toast, which reportedly lacks sufficient kaya, and the fried carrot cake, which some found unpalatable.

The environment also draws comments regarding ventilation and cleanliness.

We'd approach Cafe 276 with an eye towards their roast meats, specifically the char siew, but temper expectations for other menu items.

It's a place for a casual, potentially inconsistent meal rather than a guaranteed culinary highlight.

What customers say

Cafe 276 receives mixed reviews, with its roast meats, particularly char siew, often praised for taste and fat content, though consistency in crispiness is a concern.

The wanton noodles are considered average but generous, and the chili is noted for its spiciness.

However, issues like poor ventilation, cleanliness, inconsistent food quality (e.g., kaya toast, carrot cake), and unfriendly staff at the drink stall detract from the overall experience, with extra charges for takeaway cups being a point of contention.

I love their char siew with fats. It is my liking. I love the soup the most.

The kaya toast has hardly any kaya in it. They charge extra to put your already expensive kopi O in a takeaway cup. Aunty also very unfriendly.

Variety of foods available. Tried the carrot cake about 2 months ago. The fried carrot cake is by far the worst tasting fried carrot cake i've ever tasted. Couldn't bring myself to even finish it.
