Our take: Chong Boon Market & Food Centre in Ang Mo Kio offers a range of traditional hawker fare at budget-friendly prices.
We note that the red snapper fish soup has been highlighted as a good option, though some patrons suggest the soup could be hotter.
The Tao Suan dessert, priced at $2, also receives positive mentions, with a tip to request extra coconut milk.
The centre is described as a vibrant neighbourhood hub, especially in the mornings, with both food and market stalls.
However, we observe consistent feedback regarding the environment, particularly the heat and humidity, especially during the afternoon lunch rush.
Some stalls may also be closed, contributing to a less-than-ideal experience for those visiting outside of peak morning hours.
We'd recommend visiting in the morning to experience the full vibrancy and avoid the afternoon heat.

What customers say
Chong Boon Market & Food Centre is a vibrant Ang Mo Kio hawker centre known for its budget-friendly traditional dishes and market stalls.
While popular for items like red snapper fish soup and Tao Suan, some visitors find the temporary hawker setup to be hot and humid, especially during lunch, with a number of stalls remaining closed.
Despite this, its diverse offerings and lively atmosphere attract regular crowds, particularly in the mornings.
