Our take: Coba Coba in Yishun offers a wide selection of Malay dishes, with a particular focus on Nasi Ambeng and Nasi Padang.
We note consistent praise for the overall aroma and rich taste of the curries, with the mutton curry and fish curry (weekends only) frequently highlighted.
The beef lung is noted for its perfect texture, and the tahu telur is well-regarded for its balanced sauce.
While some find the rendang a bit dry, the tendon parts are often described as soft and flavourful.
The sambal chilli receives mixed reviews; some find it excellent and 'adds life' to the food, while others feel it doesn't quite live up to the hype.
We observe that prices are considered fair, especially given the effort and ingredients involved in Nasi Padang, with a sotong dish, begedil, and vegetables costing around $14 with a coffee.
Service is generally efficient, with food coming out quickly.
The atmosphere is described as cooling, comfortable, and having an old-school decor.
We think it's a strong contender for Nasi Padang in Yishun, offering a good alternative to other established names in the area.
It's a reliable option for a satisfying Malay meal, particularly if you're in the neighbourhood.

Cozy Malay food with lots of choice to choose from. The nasi lemak basmati is pretty nice. The chilli is the best ever. Cashier very cute and friendly. Mostly self service here.
Kind staff recommended fish curry was told only served weekend. Very aromatic overall and thick rich taste from ingredients. Mutton curry and sweet sambal was very nice too.
