Our take: Curry Magic presents itself as a solid option for both authentic Kerala and North Indian cuisine in Serangoon.
Reviewers consistently highlight the 'home cook taste' and 'authentic' flavours, suggesting a focus on traditional preparation rather than fusion.
The Mutton Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala are frequently praised, with the biryani noted for its fragrant rice and inclusion of raisins, and the Tikka Masala for its rich, spiced sauce.
The garlic naan also receives strong recommendations for its crispy yet chewy texture and good garlic flavour.
While the curry fish head is described as more coconut-based than spicy, it still finds favour with some.
Service can be a little slow, but staff are generally described as friendly.
We think it's a good spot for those seeking a cozy atmosphere and well-executed Indian dishes, especially if you appreciate a more traditional, less fiery curry.
A reliable everyday option, not a destination meal.

Enjoyed a meal here. Lots of unique dishes. Our group enjoyed: mushroom pepper fry, kadai veges, squid masala. A pint of draught Erdinger each paired well with the meal
This place does work some curry magic! Very good food. Aside from the garlic cheese naan which was ‘pizza-like’ (i.e, firm, and hence a little strange), we enjoyed everything else.
Food was good, one of the best Indian food I’ve tried. Food came fast, we had mutton briyani, dhal, naan, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, fried onions, mango lassi all tasted great.
