Our take: D&E Pastries in Tampines Mart appears to be a solid neighbourhood bakery, particularly for those seeking affordable sweet treats.
We see consistent praise for their friendly service and well-made products.
The pandan waffles are highlighted as a standout, with one reviewer lamenting their declining popularity elsewhere, suggesting D&E offers a good rendition.
The red velvet cake also gets a mention for its 'delicious' flavour and textural elements like crunchy chocolate flakes and cranberries.
While the lao po bing (wife biscuit) is noted for its light, flaky pastry and generous filling, one reviewer felt the filling could benefit from more winter melon for added flavour and texture.
Overall, D&E Pastries seems to deliver on value and quality for its price point.
Verdict: A reliable spot for budget-friendly baked goods, especially if you're in the mood for a classic pandan waffle.

Had some lovely waffles here. If you love a nice cheap sweet treat, this is the place. Pandan waffles seem to be going out of fashion in Singapore and it is a damn shame.
Staff on Saturday gv excellent service. Red velvet cake was delicious with crunchy choc flake & cranberry.
Only tried the lao po bing. They were good. Pastry was very light and flaky. Filling was generous but could have been more flavourful with more winter melon for textural interest.
