Our take: D&E Pastries appears to be a solid neighbourhood spot for affordable sweet treats, particularly for those nostalgic for classic Singaporean bakes.

Reviewers consistently highlight the friendly service and well-made products.

The Pandan Waffles are a standout, praised for being a 'nice cheap sweet treat' and a welcome find given their decreasing availability elsewhere.

The Lao Po Bing also receives positive mention for its light, flaky pastry and generous filling, though one reviewer noted a desire for more winter melon for enhanced texture and flavour.

The Red Velvet Cake, with its 'crunchy choc flake & cranberry,' also seems to be a hit.

We think D&E Pastries is a reliable choice for a quick, inexpensive dessert fix, especially if you're in the mood for traditional local pastries.

It's a good option for a casual pick-up, not a destination for an elaborate meal.

Had some lovely waffles here. If you love a nice cheap sweet treat, this is the place. Pandan waffles seem to be going out of fashion in Singapore and it is a damn shame.

Only tried the lao po bing. They were good. Pastry was very light and flaky. Filling was generous but could have been more flavourful with more winter melon for textural interest.
