Our take: Fatt Soon Heng Eating House is a neighbourhood coffee shop in Yishun with a mix of stalls.
The curry fish head, priced at $28, is noted for its spiciness and generous portion size, easily feeding two.
While some stalls have changed over time, the zhi char and a newly opened bak chor mee stall receive positive mentions for their quality and affordability.
However, the experience can be inconsistent; one reviewer found the mini wok noodles at $7 to be soggy, and the coffee, at $1.40 for a kopi O kosong pheng, was described as poor.
There are also reports of one drink stall auntie having an attitude.
We think this spot is best for those in the area looking for a casual, affordable meal, particularly if you're keen on a spicy curry fish head or the new bak chor mee.
Be prepared for potential service inconsistencies at the drink stall.

What customers say
Fatt Soon Heng Eating House offers a mix of affordable stalls, with the curry fish head and newly opened bak chor mee receiving positive remarks for taste.
However, some customers have experienced issues with service attitude from drink stall staff and inconsistent food quality, such as soggy noodles.
The change in ownership has also led to a loss of 'old school feel' for some patrons.

Small coffee shop. Had Zhi char: curry fish head. Spicy and good. Although the taste of the chillies covered the curry $28 for 2 person was more than enough.
Mini wok $6 set. Add noodles $1. Total $7. Noodles cooked until soggy, zero springy. Taste wise still ok, can eat. Of cos this will be my first and last time.
Very fortunate that four stalls are really nice and affordable. Recently the newly opened bak chor Mee is really nice!
Drink store old auntie has an attitude, tried to confirm price with her before i paylah her because i couldnt hear as she was back facing me and got a sarcastic and mocking reply from her in response.…
Been a long time since I dropped my here. This place is so bright and clean, not sure if it’s a good thing because to me it has lost its old school feel. One can’t smoke within meaning the ownership…
