Editor’s Note

Last updated 30 May 2026

We think Folk Yard offers a solid cafe experience, particularly for those in the Toa Payoh area.

The Hot Bird Sandwich, with its 'THICCCC' chicken and well-toasted shokupan, comes highly recommended, as do the curly fries.

For dinner, the sourdough pizzas, like the Cheesy Baby, seem to be a highlight, praised for their crispy yet chewy crust and balanced flavours.

Service is consistently described as warm, friendly, and efficient, which elevates the dining experience.

However, we note that the space can get noisy when full due to its concrete interior.

While the food is generally well-received, some find the prices a bit high for a regular visit, and the fried Brussels sprouts can be overly sweet.

The plates have also been reported to spin, making cutting a bit awkward.

We'd recommend visiting during a weekday lunch to avoid the weekend crowds and potential noise, or for dinner if you're keen on their pizza offerings.

It's a good option for a satisfying meal, but perhaps not an everyday spot due to the price point.
