Our take on FoodCity at 447 Jalan Kayu is that it's a mixed bag, but with some standout options.
The zi char stall receives high praise, particularly for its Crab Noodles Soup, which one reviewer found 'so good for the kind of price' at $48 for the crab plus $9 for noodles.
The XO fried rice also gets a strong recommendation for its value.
However, some find the zi char portions a bit pricey for what you get, like the $7 KL Noodle.
The rojak stall across from the zi char also consistently earns positive remarks.
We note a significant concern regarding a plastic shard found in ban mian from the '阿芳 banmian' stall, which is a serious safety issue.
On the other hand, the chai png stall is highlighted as a reliable and reasonably priced option for a quick weekday meal, with takeaways often under $10.
Drinks like kopi and teh are described as thin, suggesting a request for 'gao' (stronger) is advisable.
Overall, we'd recommend FoodCity for its zi char, specifically the Crab Noodles Soup and XO Fried Rice, and the rojak.
It's a reliable everyday option for a quick weekday meal, but we'd exercise caution with the ban mian stall.
