Our take: FoodCity at 447 Jalan Kayu functions as a reliable neighbourhood hawker centre, particularly for those in Sengkang seeking budget-friendly local fare.
The zi char stall receives consistent praise, with the $48 crab noodles soup (plus $9 for noodles) highlighted as a standout for its value and taste.
The XO fried rice is also frequently recommended.
While some find the zi char portions a bit small for the price, the overall sentiment leans positive, especially for the crab dishes.
The rojak stall is another crowd-pleaser, often mentioned alongside the zi char as a must-try.
For everyday meals, the chai png stall offers good value, with meals under $10.
We'd recommend FoodCity for a quick, no-frills weekday meal, focusing on the zi char and rojak stalls.
It's a solid option for locals, but not a destination for those outside the immediate area.
