Our take on Kebun Baru Market & Food Centre is that it's a solid neighbourhood hawker centre, particularly known for its Bak Chor Mee.
We note that the soup version of the Bak Chor Mee, priced at $5.50 for a large bowl, is highly recommended for its generous portions of pork slices, minced pork, liver, fish balls, and a raw egg.
Customers also appreciate that it doesn't leave them thirsty, suggesting minimal MSG.
However, we've seen mixed reviews on other stalls; the pork rib soup, for instance, has been criticised for small portions and hard cartilage, despite its price point.
While the market is busy in the mornings with various stalls, some dishes like the Signature Beehoon and Hakka Yong Tau Foo have been described as 'so-so'.
We think it's a reliable spot for a quick, affordable meal, especially if you're in the area and specifically looking for the Bak Chor Mee.
Best for a casual morning visit.

What customers say
Kebun Baru Market & Food Centre is praised for its value-for-money Bak Chor Mee, especially the soup version, which often sells out by early afternoon and is noted for not causing thirst.
The market is also appreciated for its variety of hawker options for quick, satisfying meals and friendly hawkers.
However, some dishes like the Signature Beehoon are found to be too oily, Hakka Yong Tau Foo not up to standard, and the Pork Rib Soup from the Cantonese stall is criticized for small portions of bony ribs and missing ingredients like scallops.

廣東 pork rib soup gives you 4 tiny pieces, all with >= 50% cartilage bone (still hard) at > $1 per piece, plus 50 cents extra for rice. Also didn’t get the scallop like the signboard said.
