Our take on Lao San Kway Chap is that it remains a solid option for traditional kway chap, particularly for those in the Ang Mo Kio area.
Reviewers consistently praise the flavorful kway chap, noting that the pork has no unpleasant smell and the kway itself is soft.
The pricing is also considered reasonable, with a set for two people and salted vegetables costing around $14.90, or $13.90 for a two-person set.
While some long-time patrons feel the stall's 'best days' might be behind it, and that the garlic fragrance isn't as strong as it once was, the overall quality is still rated highly.
We'd recommend visiting on a Sunday morning before 8am or during weekday lunch for a potentially shorter wait.
It's a reliable choice for a comforting meal, especially if you appreciate a well-established hawker stall with a history.
Best for a casual, no-frills meal.

Lao San Kway Chap is generally well-regarded for its flavorful kway and tender, odorless pork, with many customers appreciating the generous portions and reasonable pricing.
While some long-time patrons feel the quality, particularly the garlic fragrance, has slightly declined from its 'best days' and note changes in staff, the overall sentiment remains positive, often citing the friendly owners and nostalgic dining experience.

Visited on a Sunday Morning ard 8am. No queue yet. Kway Chap was flavorful and serving was generous. The pricing was proper displayed for easy reference. Enjoyed it. Big car park available.
Not bad lah but can be better. As they age gracefully food ain’t how it seems it be before. Nonetheless still good. Kway Chap for 2 pax and 1 salted veg is $14.90!
Came because recommended by friend. The Kway Chap taste quite good, the boss is nice also. Normally queue quite long, but today quite fast.
The pork has no smell, kway is soft and soup isn't too salty. Old couple has been operating this stall for a long time and very friendly
Lao San has been a long time favourite in AMK but it's best days seem to be behind. Revisited recently and found the stall to be surprisingly quiet during weekday lunch time. Some of the familiar old…
