Our take: Lao San Prawn Noodles in Tampines offers a mixed bag, primarily focusing on prawn and organ noodles.
Reviews suggest the Big Prawn Bee Hoon & Mee dry, priced at $8.50, is a common order, though some find the prawn portion (four half-prawns) small for the cost.
The accompanying prawn soup, while small, is generally described as decent, with a subtle sweetness and rich coloring.
The dried version's chili sauce is noted for its punch and ability to coat the noodles and organs well.
However, consistency appears to be an issue, with some recent feedback indicating a decline in the quality of the dried prawn noodles and the soup not being as thick or hot as before.
The mee pok can also be overcooked, affecting the texture.
On the positive side, the pork ribs are often highlighted as soft and tender, and the pork lard and organs are considered fresh and well-prepared.
We'd recommend managing expectations regarding portion size for the prawns.
Best for those in the area looking for a quick, no-frills noodle fix, but don't expect a consistently outstanding experience.

Big Prawn Bee Hoon & Mee dry : 6.5/10 rating I ordered the Big Prawn Bee Hoon & Mee dry for $8.5. Actually only 4 x half prawns and size of the prawns only medium size. So $8.5 can be considered as…
Noodles were well coated with their sauce. Fresh prawns were used and their pork ribs were soft and tender. Soup was light and flavourful. Overall, a decent bowl of prawn noodles.
The dried prawn noodles wasn't as good as before. My prawn soup was also not thick & hot as well. Need to train its staff . If they improve, I will definitely patronise again
To be fair, this is reviewing the dried version of the mixed organ noodle. 🤨 Nevertheless, a decent serving bowl of noodle pair with their prawn noodle stock which I must admit has its goodness in it…
