Editor’s Note

Last updated 29 May 2026

Our take: Lim Hui Eng is a functional food court, primarily serving the Penjuru region workforce.

We see consistent praise for the sambal chicken fried rice, with one reviewer calling it their 'favorite go to'.

The economy rice stall is noted for its quick service despite potentially long queues during peak lunch hours.

However, the Nasi Padang stall, while offering good food, is criticised for extremely slow service.

We also note recurring comments about the limited number of operating stalls (currently five) and early closures, with most stalls shutting down by 1:30pm.

Cleanliness is a concern, with mentions of flies and old chairs needing replacement.

Overall, it's a convenient option for those in the immediate vicinity, but not a destination.

We'd recommend going early for lunch, ideally before 1:30pm, and sticking to the faster-moving stalls like the economy rice or the sambal chicken fried rice.
