Our take: Mahan Nasi Padang presents a mixed bag, with some patrons praising its "rustic Malay food" and others finding it average.
We note the positive comments on specific dishes like the bean sprout salad and the cockles in chilli sauce, which seem to be a highlight for some.
However, there's a significant concern regarding pricing, with one reviewer alleging a $9 charge for a meal that would typically cost $5-6.50 elsewhere, citing "dishonest business practice." While some find the food "delicious and affordable," this discrepancy in pricing experience is worth considering.
We'd approach Mahan Nasi Padang with an eye on the specific dishes recommended, but also with caution regarding potential price inconsistencies.
It appears to be a place that might offer a satisfying meal if you know what to order and are mindful of the cost.
Best for those seeking a taste of traditional Malay cuisine who are prepared to verify pricing.

However, a significant concern revolves around perceived dishonest pricing practices by the stall owner, where charges for standard dishes like curry chicken and kangkong were considered excessively high compared to competitors.
The overall food quality is generally seen as average to above average.
