Our take: Makan Singapura in Sengkang appears to be a food court with highly inconsistent offerings and significant operational issues.
While some stalls like AshesX (for burgers) and Bob Mie (for sambal Geprek) might offer decent food, the overall experience is marred by poor hygiene, uncomfortable dining conditions, and questionable billing practices.
We note recurring complaints about dirty, oily floors, stuffy environments due to lack of air-conditioning, and uncleared tables.
The Mookata stall, 555 Mookata, has been criticised for rigid and unaccommodating policies regarding dining time, even when the establishment is not busy.
Furthermore, there are serious allegations of dishonest billing, such as a 'TIP/OVER PAY' charge of $0.05 on a PayLah transaction, which we find concerning.
We also observe that food quality varies wildly between vendors, with Yassin Kampung specifically called out for 'appalling' and 'inedible' black pepper beef served cold after a long wait.
While the $5.50 Maggi Goreng was mentioned, its value is debatable given the additional $3 for what turned out to be chopped, mixed-in chicken rather than a proper fried piece.
The $3.20 Iced Milo and $1.80 Hot Teh also seem to reflect a higher price point for drinks.
Given the numerous negative experiences, we advise caution.
This is a place to avoid unless you are specifically targeting a known decent stall during off-peak hours and are prepared for potential operational shortcomings.
