Our take: Mohamad Waseef in Bukit Panjang appears to be a local Indian-Muslim stall with a mixed bag of reviews.

While some patrons, like clarissaloke, laud their prata as potentially the best in the area, this praise comes with the caveat that it needs to be cooked on the spot and served with a thick fish curry.

This suggests a significant inconsistency in quality, a point echoed by Hairil Sukaime, who attributes it to varying skillsets among cooks.

Complaints range from missing chilli or chutney with thosai to a 'horrible' tasting mee goreng with no meat, indicating fundamental issues with food preparation and consistency.

Beyond the food, operational issues also surface.

Winnie Ang highlights 'really bad queue organisation,' and Hairil Sukaime notes the difficulty in finding seats during peak hours and weekends.

We think this suggests a stall struggling with both quality control and customer flow.

While the prata might occasionally hit the mark, the overall picture points to an unreliable experience.

We'd recommend Mohamad Waseef only if you're a local willing to gamble on the prata, and crucially, if you can visit during off-peak hours to avoid both the crowds and potentially rushed, inconsistent food.

What customers say

Mohamad Waseef in Bukit Panjang receives mixed feedback, with some customers praising its prata, especially when freshly made and served with thick fish curry.

However, significant concerns exist regarding food quality inconsistency, with dishes like thosai sometimes lacking accompaniments and mee goreng being described as horrible and spoiled.

Operational issues such as poor queue management and difficulty finding seats during peak hours also detract from the customer experience.

Ordered 3 thosai, two masala and 1 plain. This is not the first time. Sometimes no chilli or chutney at all.

Trust me on this the best prata in the whole of bukit Panjang. Only if it’s cooked on the spot and also when their fish curry is thick. Maybe a bit doughy but the outter layers is thin and crispy 👍
