Editor’s Note

Last updated 30 May 2026

Our take: Punggol Coast Hawker Centre is a relatively new and spacious hawker centre located conveniently above Punggol Coast MRT.

We note its high ceilings and large fans contribute to good ventilation, making it comfortable despite being non-airconditioned.

The variety of food options is a consistent highlight, with mentions of good chicken rice, crispy prata, and well-made char kway teow.

However, some stalls, like the Thai wanton mee, might not live up to the queue's promise, and the carrot cake has been described as bland.

We also note that not all stalls are consistently open.

While the teh ice and drink stall service are generally efficient, some experiences with customer service at individual stalls have been less positive.

The hawker centre can get very crowded during peak meal times due to its proximity to SIT University and the Digital District, leading to significant queues for popular stalls.

We'd recommend visiting during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds.

A clear verdict: A good option for a wide variety of hawker fare, best visited outside of traditional meal times to avoid long waits.

What customers say

Punggol Coast Hawker Centre is praised for its spacious, well-ventilated environment and wide variety of food options, making it a popular spot, especially given its proximity to SIT University and the Digital District.

While many dishes like the chicken rice, crispy prata, and black & white carrot cake receive positive remarks, some find the Thai wanton mee underwhelming and highlight issues with toilet maintenance.

Customers should expect long queues for popular stalls, particularly during peak hours, and note that some stalls may not always be open.
