Our take on Soon Kee 顺记卤鸭 is that it’s a long-standing establishment, operating since 1964, and has built a reputation for its Teochew-style braised duck.
Reviewers consistently praise the tender duck meat, clean spare parts, and well-cooked, fluffy yam rice.
The chilli and soup also receive positive mentions.
However, there's a notable concern regarding pricing transparency, with one customer questioning a $9.50 charge for a kway chap set with added duck, especially when a standard set is listed at $5.
While the food itself is generally well-received for its authentic taste and quality, the lack of clear communication about pricing could be a point of frustration for some.
We'd recommend visiting for the traditional braised duck, but be prepared to clarify pricing if you're ordering add-ons or customising your meal.
It's a solid choice for those seeking authentic Teochew braised duck in Yishun.

Came here on a Sunday and saw the stall being manned by three elderly. Ordered a kwaychap set for one, added on duck. Food is nice, meat was tender and not too salty. But not sure why it was $9.50. O…
Authentic teow chew style, duck meat good, spare parts clean and good, chilli also good, soup good too! Yam rice well cook and fluffy not oily. Price reasonable .
One of the BEST of best duck rice stalls I have known for the past 30 years. MUST TRY.
Delicious food especially the duck rice. Staff were very friendly and nice.
