Editor’s Note

Last updated 30 May 2026

Our take on Sumo Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee is that it's a promising hawker stall, especially given the youth of its proprietors.

We see consistent praise for the wok hei in their Hokkien Mee, a crucial element for this dish.

Reviewers frequently highlight the generous use of pork lard and crispy ikan bilis, which seem to elevate the flavour profile, even when the chilli might not fully integrate.

The $5 small Hokkien Mee, with its three prawns and squid, is noted as reasonably priced and not stingy on ingredients.

While the Hokkien Mee receives strong marks, the Orh Lua (oyster omelette) is described as crispy and tasty, though some wish for more oysters.

The carrot cake is also a popular item, with comments on its good taste, though one review noted it was slightly salty.

We think this spot is a solid choice for those in the Woodlands area looking for a reliable plate of Hokkien Mee or carrot cake.

Parking in the area, however, appears to be a consistent challenge.

A reliable everyday option, not a destination meal.

Surprised to see young hawkers, really good to see. Orh lua was interesting, very crispy and tasty with good chilli. If give a bit more oyster it would be perfect, the oyster is really not expensive…

The carrot cake is good but slight salty. The prawn mee also good serving but chilli doesn't blend well, but luckily pork lard and ikan bilis made the dish taste well.

Reasonably priced. Definitely not stingy with ingredients! Ordered their signature carrots cake and hokkien prawn mee. Both super satisfying. Do come and try if you are nearby! 👍👍👍👍
