Our take: Tastebud in Punggol offers a wide variety of hawker fare, making it a convenient option for residents.
The Mala Xiang Guo stands out as a popular choice, though its quality can fluctuate during peak hours.
We'd recommend trying it during off-peak times for a better experience.
The mixed rice stall has received mixed reviews; while some praise dishes like the salted egg chicken, others report inconsistent pricing, with some customers being charged $6 for two vegetables and dory fish.
The Indian Muslim stall is noted for its consistent Mee Goreng and options like masala thosai.
However, we'd advise caution with the Taiwanese stall, which is described as overpriced with disappointing dishes like oily enoki mushrooms.
The Western food stall also seems to cater to a specific preference for thickly battered items.
The chicken rice stall has consistently negative feedback, with reports of slimy chicken and even foreign objects in the food.
Overall, it's a mixed bag, with some reliable options and others to approach with caution.
Verdict: Best for a quick, convenient meal if you stick to the recommended stalls and avoid peak hours.

What customers say
Tastebud offers a diverse range of hawker fare, with customers frequently praising the new mixed rice stall's broccoli, cabbage, and salted egg chicken, as well as the Mee Goreng and beef noodles from the Chinese Malaysia stall.
However, consistency is a concern, particularly with mala xiang guo during peak hours, and the Taiwanese and Western food stalls receive criticism for being overpriced, oily, or having poor quality ingredients.
Pricing discrepancies at the mixed rice stall and a report of slimy chicken rice with metal found in it also contribute to negative sentiment.

Tried the zhi char here. The three cup chicken is not bad. However, the others were not really very tasty. Would classify it as just normal zhi char. Did not raise my appetite.
