Our take: Uncle Penyet Serangoon, operating out of a Kimly Coffeeshop, offers Indonesian-style dishes that are generally well-received for their portion sizes and value.
While the Google rating is modest, individual reviews highlight specific dishes like the Mee Rebus, praised for its thick gravy and generous portions.
The Ayam Penyet (smashed chicken) also gets a nod for being hot, juicy, and served with fluffy rice, making for a satisfying meal after a wait of about 15 minutes during busy periods.
The Lemongrass Curry Chicken Rice, priced at $6.80, is noted as a filling option, though perhaps not exceptionally flavourful.
We think this spot is best for a quick, affordable, and substantial meal, especially if you're in the mood for classic Indonesian comfort food.
It's a reliable everyday option, not a destination meal.

Tried the lemongrass curry chicken rice. Taste was quite ok. Looks impressive but nothing super duper in the flavour. Can filled your belly for $6.80. Will probably try the ayam penyet the next time.
Value for money nasi padang. Had the mee rebus and bee hoon today. Mee rebus is super good with thick gravy and a nice blend of chilli. Stall is very generous with portions. Satisfying meal overall.
Was pretty hungry after work, needed some carbs and proteins, saw this smashed chicken, had to give it a try… paid and was given the beeper.. 15mins later collected the food.. fried chicken is hot and…
